Visionary Wings
The space structure of complete V type forms the unique space structure in consideration of the characteristics of each organization and provides the best space for research and education. In particular, the continuity and metastasis of the space from interior to exterior contains the communication and interchange toward the wide earth. The equivalent two wings (2wing) and the vision cube (1cube) of communication and integration complete one organic form to symbolize Korea Development Institute.
Layout plan - The plan is the integration type layout containing the flight of KDI. By the common facility centered symmetry layout, there are excellent aspect and view and secure independency and connectivity between facilities simultaneously. Also, as the parking lot is disposed in the north of the site, the south space becomes the central space in the site. As the main concrete viewpoint, firstly, the institute and the graduate school are disposed independently securing extra outer space respectively. Secondly, at the center, the common facility is disposed integratedly to use it conveniently from each facility. Thirdly, the dormitory and the guest house are arranged as a nature-acceptance type utilizing the slope topography positively.
Outer space plan - Outer space plan produces a creative space united with research, relaxation and meditation. As the space for research and meditation was made at the institute area, the communication place liased to the neighborhood park in the south, the space for discussion and relaxation at the graduate school, Dasan yard, an environment-friendly space of life, at the dormitory site, a nature-friendly kowledge network was appeared where the routine transformed to the study.
Elevation scheme - The elevation of main building expressed the status and the future vision of KDI. Vision Cube at the center embodied the logo of Korea Development Institute and expressed the window of policy forecasting the future in front. The elevation of the institute and the graduate school embodied the wings flying toward the most valuable organization in the world.
