As the development plan of the central part which is the frame of new town planned in Dongtan, Hwaseong as the base city in the south of the metropolitan area, the establishment of the city that can secure the comfortability and safety was planned as the advanced but pastoral city. Different from other new towns, the prototype of self sufficient residential cluster coinciding the status of model complex with the commercial area at the center was developed and suggested, and the harmony with the surrounding natural environment was planned as the nature-friendly complex to make it more comfortable complex symbolizing the whole new town.
