“Architecture must be looked at from the urban perspective.”
3 young architects have joined forces to start a small architectural firm in 1984. The idea of looking at architecture from urban perspective is a basic framework upon which the promise of founders of the partnership on creative and multi-dimensional ideas are based. Kunwon not only serves as a driving force behind the history of Korean residential development and urban environmental design in the past 30 years, with its long experience and expertise in the field since 1984, it still remains as an effective value in the current era which has been becoming more and more diversified and complex.

Kunwon has invited experts from various fields to achieve a pool of collective intelligence through a cross-pollination of ideas. This fall under the company’s mission to carry out projects as a strategic partner to clients. From the perspective of cross-pollination in agriculture, which is a process wherein plants are pollinated by receiving pollen from other plants, Kunwon pursues the realization of higher values while exchanging new ideas and obtaining inspiration through collaboration with creative talents in various fields including the field of architectural design.

Not limiting the capability of an architecture design firm to design only, Kunwon is preparing for a leap into a “Global Comprehensive Engineering Group” as a Total Design Solution Provider by expanding its project capability. Through cooperation with its subsidiaries, such as Kunwon Construction, responsible for project planning and architectural design, Kunwon Engineering, responsible for engineering and construction management (CM), and Pan Pacific, in charge of development projects, Kunwon is evolving into the best architecture specialist group in Korea while producing synergistic effects.
